It’s not often a bunch of flowers lands on the editorial desk. Alas, the arrival of these beauties was not a thank-you from a reader or a sign of affection from a secret admirer. They are the new Dalesman sweet pea sent to me by Darren Myers of Myers Sweet Peas, Outwood, Wakefield. The flower was bred by Andrew Beane, and Darren believes that it has the potential to be one of the best blue sweet peas of recent times, excellent for either exhibition or garden. Dalesman consistently produces four well placed flowers on long stems and also provides an excellent scent, says Darren. Seeds will be available from September – visit www.myerssweetpeas.com

Love the flowers & love the fact that a new Sweet Pean was developed by a Mr Beane!
