This weekend saw the annual autumn flower show at Harrogate and as usual there was a friendly and convivial atmosphere… even in the ‘biggest vegetable’ section which once again was very competitive. There were onions the size of footballs and leeks the length of goalposts. But my favourite section was the flower arranging where groups from around the county had to depict a Yorkshire tourist attraction. There were some very imaginative displays, including this one from Steeton Flower Club which shows Mother Shipton’s Cave.
