On holiday from work and looking for a breath of fresh air on New Year’s Eve I was once again drawn to the Three Peaks. It was foggy all around until suddenly I found myself in a clear pocket near Ingleborough. It lasted only briefly as more mist motored in from the west and I just managed to capture this snapshot before I was engulfed again. Friends tell me they walked through the mist to the top of Ingleborough and were rewarded with the unusual view of just Whernside’s flat peak sticking out above the fog, the top of which was swirling around only a few feet below them.
