I am making a family tree for my mother, she is Mary Jackson. Her father was Harry Jackson (1896) and his father was William Henry Jackson. and a dutch women. who died after the birth of my mother in 1917.
Harry was in the Netherlands in the First World War. He returned to Sheffield and lived at Abbeydale road. He was remarried and had 3 children, Eric, Nancy (where has she gone?) and Ronald. My mother told me there was also often a Marjorie (a sister of harry or a niece??) who was a beautiful woman, and a fashion model. She was not married and no children at that time.

My great-great-great-grandfather William Jackson was born in County Down, Northern Ireland but spent most of his youth in Yorkshire. He was a bricklayer. His parents were John Jackson (a town missionary) and Rachel Cain/Cane.
He married Sarah Howarth/Harworth in Lancashire (where she was from) in 1861 but were back in Yorkshire for the birth of 2 children in 1870 and 1872 (James and Sarah Ann, the latter my great-great- grandmother).
William and his family moved to New Zealand in 1877.
I am trying to find more about John Jackson. I am not sure where he was born but as he was a missionary he maybe moved around. I think he may have been a Methodist as William named a son Herbert Wesley Jackson.

I’m looking for any information about the family of William Jackson.
William Jackson married twice – First to Rachel Moorcroft, -1707, and had a daughter by her, Rachel 1707-1765. Rachel married James Lister, 1710-1753, a Leeds printer. Rachel and James had four children, James, 1735-1791, John, 1710-, Joshua, 1712-1790, and Elizabeth ,1714-. Son James moved to Hounslow in London and set up as a printer. John must have married because he had a daughter Rachel.
William Jackson’s second wife was Sarah North, and they had eight children, John, 1710-, Joshua, 1712-1790, Elizabeth, 1714- Sarah, 1716-1804, George, 1718-1736, William, 1721-1795, Benjamin, 1723-1748 and Samuel, 1726-1746. Joshua is described as a ‘Press paper maker’ , his last address is given as Park lane House (Now Leeds University). Sarah married Aaron Grimshaw , but had no children. William moved to Oxford where he became a printer, newspaper proprietor (Jackson’s Oxford Journal) and a Banker. William became very wealthy and, in his will, left most of his assets to his long time assistant, Mary Jones – Sister Sarah received £10.000 (A vast sum in those days).
When Sarah died she left the bulk of her fortune to her mother’s family, the North’s.
All these people were members of the Society of Friends (Quakers).

I am trying to find out what happened to my Great Uncle Albert Jackson who was apparently born in Haworth in 1892/3. His brother Lewis Jackson (b. 1888) was my maternal grandfather. Lewis and Albert’s mother was called Matilda and the boys had a sister called Annie who was born in Haworth in 1899. In 1901 the family lived in Lime Street in Haworth. In 1911 Matilda, Albert and Annie were living in Keighley. Mum said her aunt Annie married a man who ran a fleet of Rolls Royce Cars and that she died in the 1930s – around 1933/34. Mother never mentioned an Uncle Albert and I wonder what happened to him. In 1911 he worked in the textile industry as did his mother Matilda.

The only information we have on Isabelle is on my children’s grandmother’s birth certificate which says she was born in Yarm, Yorkshire, and married in 1909. As I was told she was Roman Catholic, Yarm is likely. Then on her death certificate Edward placed under place of birth Ilkley, Yorkshire.
My mother-in-law was told by her father that both her mother’s parents had been killed in an accident.
Is there anywhere I can check records in Yorkshire for her details please, or does anyone know anything about Isabelle Johnson?

I am looking for information on my late grandad and his late brother and sisters. They were born in Sockburn near Great Ayton about 1900, were farmers and moved to Trimdon in County Durham in 1912.
My grandad was John Stainthorpe, his brother George Henry, and his sisters were Annie and Jennie Johnson.
I want to know what farm they lived at, and if there are still relatives about. I remember a Mrs Bell of Stokesley when grandad died in 1965 when she came to a funeral, and she had son on a farm.
I would like to hear from anyone with information.

Wondering if anyone can help. I was born and raised in Canada and both my parents have passed so looking for help with the following. My Gran was born Rose Blackwell to mum Bridget Connor, dad’s name unknown. When she was just 3 weeks old Bridget died (1899). Bridget was 35 at date of death and I find it hard to believe Rose didn’t have any siblings born before her. We do know that Rose was taken by and aunt and uncle to India until she was 9 or 10. I would like to find out who they were and who, if any, Rose’s siblings were. Rose married Albert Johnson in 1923 and they had two sons, Albert Ernest and Gerard. Albert (son) was my Dad. His father Albert disappeared in approximately 1925/26. Both families were Catholic but I’ve only found Bridget’s burial record. Would anyone have any information that could help me? Greatly appreciated!

My great-great-grandfather was Daniel Joy. I can trace his life from the 1851 census onwards but have nothing before that. Though I have no documented record of his birth or baptism, his marriage certificate names his father as Thomas Joy. I do have a family record of his birthday as being 11th May 1825 but I would like to substantiate this. On subsequent census returns he gave his place of birth as Hartlington or Burnsall. Daniel also lived in Thorpe, Hebden, Halton East, Bolton Bridge and Skipton before relocating to Garston, Liverpool. Can anyone help me fill in the early gaps?
