My grandfather Gordon Ince was born in 1888 in Knareborough / Harrogate. He died in India in 1924 or thereabouts, at that time he was a sergeant in the Duke of Wellingtons Regiment. His wife Bridgette remained in India in the Army Nursing Corp, and was matron of the Military Hospital in Delhi.
My Mother was born in Madras. Her brother and sister both died before she married my father.

My great grandfather John Fox was born in Birstall in 1841 and my grandmother’s parents Timothy Ineson (1914) and Hannah Marsland (1813) were also born in the area. Their ancestor charts are attached. The family surnames are: Fox, Ineson, Armitage, Priestley (Joseph Priestley 1733 – 1804 was a great uncle), Marsland, Hirst, Clayton, Street, Hanson, Cowling, Longbottom, and Lee. I am going to be visiting Yorkshire this July. I am looking for guidance or help finding relatives who live in the area. It would be really nice to meet them and share family information.

My Grandfather Inman came over from Germany in the 1890s and the name was then Kretchmar or Kretzmar, and in 1914 he changed the name to Inman. I think Grandpa’s chritian name was Johanne, and they lived in Heaton, Bradford. He was much involved in Bradford business life and started Inman Spencers Wool Merchants. My father Roland and his brother Bertram worked for him.

Searching for information about husband’s grandfather, Martin Iredale born 1882. Prior to WW11 he was an actor and possibly also a theatre manager. He was admitted to hospital from the Light AA Battery at Hirst Priory at Crowle but died later from toxaemia caused by appendicitis on December 18, 1940. The registrar was informed of his death by an S Grimston, of 20 Dunstall Street, Scunthorpe. I would like to find out more about S Grimston. Was this someone who may have worked at the hospital or was this a person who had some personal connection to Martin Iredale?

Martin was buried in St Mary’s Parish Churchyard at Mirfield, Yorkshire. His Army records state that he was married to a Violet Gordge. Has anyone any information about Violet.
