Sadly, this will be my last blog as Dalesman editor. I’m taking my pension from this Friday and will hopefully be spending more time enjoying the great Yorkshire countryside – and improving my photography. I’ll be continuing to edit and write blogs for Dalesman’s sister magazine, The Countryman, as a freelance from home. The current editor of the Craven Herald in Skipton, Adrian Braddy, takes over in the Dalesman hot-seat on November 12. Adrian will be only the sixth Dalesman editor since the magazine was founded back in 1939. For me it is the end of a memorable and challenging stint with Dalesman stretching back almost twenty years. My thanks to all who have read and contributed to this blog.
