Jon Stokoe - The Dalesman Editor

Time flies when you’re having fun and I’d find it extremely difficult to argue with that!

We’ve managed to shoehorn plenty into this month’s edition once again, all the while aiming to cover the whole of our huge county.

TV vet Julian Norton has taken time out to answer the questions in Talking Yorkshire, while Amanda Owen has squeezed writing her monthly column into her hectic schedule.

We’ve some fascinating memories from a USA-based Yorkshireman while there are features on Goathland, York and Harrogate as well as catching up with Otley’s town poet, and finding out about big plans down at Brodsworth Hall.

Our Barnsley bard Ian McMillan has another cracker of a column for you while one of our regular writers Charlotte Oliver has been into the woods to learn a new skill.

Roberta Mothersdale keeps us all up to date with life down on the farm in her own inimitable style while our nature expert Richard Bell serves up another wonderful Wild Yorkshire.

We’ve got news, breathtaking photography, fabulous cartoonery and a chance to win a luxury break on the coast plus readers’ letters, the events guide courtesy of our super-efficient Linda before our latest My best day out writer rounds things off in style.

There are more great offers in our Members Club pages – you automatically join when you subscribe – and you can find even more offers on our new-look website www.dalesman.co.uk

And I’m also delighted to say we’re doing our bit for the environment as your magazines are now being sent out in eco-friendly paper wrapping.

Anyway, that’s more than enough waffle from me, I’m off to rustle up Mrs Simkins’ rhubarb recipe.

Yours in Yorkshire,
Jon Stokoe
