Yates
Help please! I am trying to find any information at all about my Great Grandmother
Mary Ann (Polly) Littlewood. She lived in the Almshouses at Dewsbury. She had
2 children, my Grandmother, born about 1910 ish, who I think was christened
Fanny, but changed her name to Geraldine. I know Geraldine had a brother, but
don't even know his name. Geraldine married Ernest Mail, who I believe came
from Huddersfield, he was certainly a proud Yorkshireman. They had a son Gerald,
my father, born c.1927. He went to Almondbury Grammar School (now King James'
School), and trained as a pharmacist, moving to London. I remember a Great
Uncle Gilbert Yates being mentioned when I was a child, who was said to be
a Don at Cambridge. I have tried really hard to find information in the birth,
marriage and death internet records and a genealogy site, about all of them
but have drawn complete blanks. I have no documents or accurate dates for any
of them and know so little about them. I would be very grateful indeed for
any information at all.

Yeadon
I am looking for information on my brother, Douglas Ronald Yeadon (known as Ronnie), born in Idle in 1923. Our parents were Harold and May Yeadon who lived at 15 New Street, Idle. He was in the Army in WWII, and served in the Far East. He was in the building trade around the Bradford and Brighouse area from 1947. He married Nora Doherty in 1947 and divorced in 1965/69.
I last heard of him in the Heckmondwyke area in 1970/72.

Yeates
My great-great-grandparents were named Yeates and lived at Pateley Bridge around
the early 1800s. One of their daughters married a man named Bayles, who
had four daughters, Harriet, Ann, Elizabeth and Mary. Elizabeth married
a Mr Gill and lived at Blayefield. Ann married Mr Pratt and lived at Glasshouses.
Mary married Mr Dawson and lived at Haworth. Harriet, my grandmother, married
William Metcalfe around about 1880-1. I would be grateful for any information
on the Yeates and Bayles families.
