His father was John Radcliffe b 1744/45, m Mary Buckley 1772 in Saddleworth. I believe John's father was also John. I believe he was married twice. Might be Mary Platt and second unknown. Raine
My ancestor was Thomas Raine, born 1803, Yorkshire. He was arrested at Startforth and charged with sheep stealing in December 1831: tried at York Assizes March 17 1832: death sentence commuted to life in New South Wales. At the time of his departure from UK aboard Mary III, August 1832 his record states 'Wife with father Thomas Langstaff/Longstaff(e) at Galgate'. At the time of his arrival in NSW, January 1833 he claimed to be married with one son. His convict indent further states he was a butcher and could milk.
It may be that the child died aged 10 months in October 1832 – a child is buried at Barnard Castle – records indicate 'father transported'.
I would appreciate any info or tips on how to find the name of his wife and child, also his parents and any siblings.

On 1901 census Joanna was listed as Farmer in Breighton, with Ann, Walter, William and Joanna. Joseph was a waggoner on farm (with horses) and was a boarder with James and Mary Ann Poole at Gunby. Elizabeth (Lizzie) was a domestic servant at Aughton, and Charlotte was a domestic servant in Halifax. Charlotte later migrated to America but don't know when or if married at the time. Walter migrated to Australia as a youth. My Dad, John William and I were both born at Breighton. Would love to here from anyone with any information, or who may have known us or any of our family.

Riby
Rachel Riby died age 23 in the birth, in late 1843 at Wykeham, of my great-grandmother; Rachel's husband was Robert Metcalf of Ebberston. I have not been able to find a record of her death – I assume it was 1843 but presumably she could have survived for a short while into 1844. Any clues would be appreciated.

The Roberts family were cormillers in Wentbridge at Wentbridge Mill, with some members of the family  on the 1851 census as of Kirk Smeaton. They were millers in Wentbridge for over 100 years.
Abraham Roberts married Elizabeth Newell in 1773, they had a number of children and one son, Benjamin, married Mary Hollings in 1805. His son, Edward Clarkson Roberts, married Sarah Kitchings, and they had a son called William Clarkson Roberts. Edward's second marriage was to Grace Ellen Cleave, and they had a number children. One son, Edwin Roberts, moved to Australia and married Sarah Tee who was born in Wath upon Dearne. Their children were born in Victoria, Australia.
I am looking for further information on Henry, who married Kate, and had a family and lived Mickefield, Yorkshire, and Thomas Benjamin who married Annie Richardson(?) and had a family.

I would dearly like to trace my great-grandfather William Robinson. He married in Auckland NZ in January 1867 to Ruth McCleary of Lurgan, County Down, Ireland. At this time his profession is given as blacksmith. When he died in 1923 he was said to have been in the country 57 years – which places his arrival at approx 1864. On the records of his second marriage in 1918 his parents names are given as Joseph and Ann, father's occupation iron founder. Place of birth was Barnsley, Yorkshire. In Ruth's Irish family tree he is named as Sam Robinson.
I have been unable to discover which of the 200+ William Robinsons recorded as having traveled to NZ he may be – is any one missing him from their English family tree?  Any help gratefully received.

I very much want to find my half brother, Brian Robinson, born in 1940, or perhaps 1941, near Huddersfield/Dewsbury area? Our mother was Ruth Irene Robinson (nee Gooch). The marriage failed and she moved to Norfolk where I was born November 19, 1944 at Tan Office Farm, Saxthorpe. (My father's name was Arthur Haigh.) I believe Brian, my half brother, remained in Yorkshire and was raised by the Robinson family. However, our mother returned to live in Yorkshire (Brighouse), with me, my father Arthur and my younger sister, Patricia, around 1949. Our mother died there in an auto accident when I was 17. I don't know if Brian was ever made aware of our mother's death, or the circumstances, and whether he even knows I exist. I am hoping the Brian Robinson I am looking for is still in Yorkshire, however. I would appreciate any information that would help me locate him.

I am looking for the family tree of the Robinson's of Countersett Hall, Wensleydale, Yorkshire circa 1600's through 1700's and beyond.I am trying to find a link from possibly Richard Robinson, or a relation of his (of Countersett Hall, a Quaker of the mid 1600's; his house was a Friends meeting place) to a large Robinson family who were of Liverpool but who originated in the 'dales.' A William Robinson, a bookseller, was said to have been 'A dalesman who came down from the Lakes to Liverpool' at the end of the 1700's. He was married to Eleanor Fothergill in 1784 in Liverpool. (I also believe Eleanor was descended from the large Fothergill family, whose origins were also in Quakerism. I base this theory on reading somewhere the fact 'Fothergill's' attended Friends meetings at the Robinson home of Countersett Hall in the mid 1600's). William and Eleanor had several children, including my next ancestor down, William Fothergill Robinson, Broker /proprietor of Liverpool; him and his siblings and several of their descendents, were bankers, barristers, academics and such like of Liverpool (and beyond). Any information tying up the Robinson's of Wensleydale (circa 1600's +) to the Robinson's of Liverpool from 1802 onwards, would be most appreciated.

I am looking for information on the Sheffield family from the Huttons Ambo/Malton area. William Sheffield (b. 1762) married Sophia Ward (b. 1762). They had several children. My ancestor is their son, Thomas B Sheffield (b. 1797). He emigrated to the US (first Kentucky, later New York) about 1819. His oldest brother was William Sheffield (b. 1787). He stayed in Yorkshire and was a surgeon. He eventually moved to Farmanby. Thomas had a sister, Sophia Sheffield (b. 1799), who also emigrated to New York. She never married and became a naturalized US citizen (fairly rare for a woman at that time). Her occupation on a US census is listed as "lady". Another brother (? unsure of their relationship), Richard H Sheffield (b. 1789), came to New York around 1819. Another sister, Elizabeth Sheffield (b. 1791) married a William Robinson (b. 1786) and emigrated to New York with their 6 children. Another sister, Sarah Sheffield (b. 1793) married a Robert Sutton (b. 1790). They stayed in Yorkshire, but their children emigrated to New York.

To the best of my knowledge, this family was associated with the parish church of St. Michaels, Old Malton. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to make a trip to Yorkshire from the US next summer. I'd love to have a firm grasp of where to start my research.

I am looking for information on the Ryder family in Killinghall particularly Eliza Ann Ryder (1860-1920), daughter of Elizabeth Ryder and step-daughter of Robert Brown. Eliza was the second wife of my grandfather Arthur Austin. They had a son Norman Austin born in 1902 who lived in Bilton with his wife Hilda before the Second World War.

Rymer
I am interested in any information about Marriana Rymer who was baptised in Topcliffe, near Thirsk, 11 Jan 1857. She is on the following South Kilvington census's: 1861 – Mary Rymer; 1871 – Mary H Rymer; 1881 – Mary H Rymer, a Millers daughter, aged 24. I am unable to trace her on the 1891 & 1901 census, and can't find any marriage or death details.

Rymer
I am researching the life of one of my many times great-grandfathers, Burnet Rymer. He was baptised
"A bastard" at Felixkirk, North Yorkshire in 1702 and died in Coxwold in 1771. Any further information about him would be very gratefully received.
