Family Quest

Nappy
My grandmother Adeline Nappy lived in Goole, Yorkshire, and married John E Neyvatte around 1900.
They emigrated to Canada and lived in Toronto around 1910. John disappeared around 1913 leaving Adeline with 2 boys to bring up.
Adeline had a brother who was drowned swimming in the river at Goole. Any information of the ancestors, siblings and any of their descendants would be valued.
Any Neyvattes that turn up would also be of assistance.

Nicholson
I,m looking for any info on an Ethel Nicholson (I can't find any records on her) who lived @ 13 Ramsey Sts Scarborough.
On the 4th of July 1922, Ethel gave birth to a son whom she named Jack (my father). Jack went to live - at birth or shortly there after - with Alfred & Gurtrude Rayner, who also lived in Yorkshire. Jack was adopted by the Rayners 15yrs later (strange ??????). At the time of the adoption the Rayners were living in Blackpool, but, at some point moved back to Yorkshire. They relocated many times within the shire (also strange???) until they died in the 70's. Alfred had a brother named Tom, he also lived in Yorkshire.

My father found out he was adopted in his seventies - too late to ask any questions. Sketchy info I know, but, this is all I have. If there's any one out there that this story sounds familiar to, it would be great to hear from you.
