Ellershaw
I am desperately trying to trace a John (known as Jack) Ellershaw. He was born
in 1895 in Settle, to Robert and Sarah Ellershaw. He may well have served a
term of imprisonment at HMP Lancaster, (so family rumour has it). I am led
to believe that he may well have died between 1946-1954. I believe that he
resided at sometime in the Crook area of Kendal. Anyone with any knowledge,
please contact me.

Does anyone remember a lovely large old house called 'Green Lea' (alas no more),
Greenside, Dalton, Huddersfield? It was owned by Joe Ellis, who lived there with
his wife Polly and their four children, in the early 1900s. Also, I would like
to know more about a family called Peace. George Albert, wife Mary Ann and their
five daughters (two died young from TB). They came from South Shields to live
near the centre of Moldgreen, Huddersfield, and were there until after the 1939-45
war.

Ellis
I am a descendant of the Ellis family of the West Riding of Yorkshire,
who, at one time owned Savile Mills in Dewsbury. Samuel Ellis
had a daughter, Olive,
who married T W Travers, probably early in the 1900s. Olive had at least two
grandchildren, Christopher and Bridget, who are probably now around 60 years
old and were last known to be living in Manchester and the Lake District,
respectively. If anyone can put me in touch with them I would be most grateful
as I am researching
the family history and the Ellis side seem to have lost touch
with the Travers side.
