This steam railway runs 4.5 miles from Embsay station to Bolton Abbey. Many family
events are held here and it is well equipped with gift shop, cafe and picnic
area. Opening Times: Every Sunday throughout the year and up to five days a week

Every Wednesday in high summer take a scenic return journey by steam train over the famous Settle to Carlisle railway, including the great arched viaduct at Ribblehead. There is an afternoon break in Carlisle for sightseeing and an optional off train tour is available by vintage road coach through the Lake District with a cruise on Ullswater. Seats are available in Standard class, First class & Premier dining and prices start from just £69.

to mill shops and 'Summer Wine' country. Opening Times: Open every

NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM

Experience the railway revolution and observe a comprehensive collection of engines,
royal carriages and trains. Opening Times: 10am to 6pm Seven days a week. Closed

This 18 mile steam ride passes through spectacular scenery and
idyllic stations; Goathland for example is "Aidensfield" In
the ITV Heartbeat series. Opening Times: Daily service 20 March

SETTLE-CARLISLE RAILWAY

The 72 mile route from Settle to Carlisle takes you on a journey through the magnificent Yorkshire Dales, over the 24 arches of the Ribblehead Viaduct before plunging in to the longest tunnel on the line at Blea Moor. Emerging onto the side of Dentdale, the line leaves the Dales at Garsdale and makes it way through the gentle, lush rolling hills of the Eden Valley, with rural villages and market towns before arriving at the great border city of Carlisle.
